I hate to write this blog. I've seen too many of these intentional mistakes made by church planters or pastors whose churches end up headed for trouble, splits, or dysfunction. Read on to discover when your pastor or church needs help because they are headed for trouble.
I hate to write this blog. I've seen too many of these intentional mistakes made by church planters or pastors whose churches end up headed for trouble, splits, or dysfunction. Read on to discover when your pastor or church needs help because they are headed for trouble.
Sign #1: The pastor does not shepherd the church.
Sign #2: The pastor develops his own "rubber stamp" board.
Sign #3: The leadership board does not review and evaluate the lead pastor on a yearly basis.
Sign #4: When there is conflict, the pastor always sends other leaders to correct or discipline those who were offended or who have offended him.
Sign #5: No new or younger church leaders have been developed in a long time.
Sign #6: There is no plan for going beyond winning converts to making disciples who make disciples.
Sign #7: The lead pastor stays away from church board or important leadership meetings.
Sign #8: The pastor is always discouraged or depressed.
Sign #9: The lead pastor is compelled or required to attend all or even most of the meetings of the church.
Sign #10: Prayer is minimal or missing from the services and meetings of the church.
